Open the pupil, choose Intervention and record the plan, baseline, target and agreed review date.
Record each session, its duration, observations and measurements. Link an evidence document where helpful.
Review the evidence, update the agreed current measure and create a follow-up task for the next review.
Progress compares the change from baseline with the change needed to reach the target. Lower targets work too. Equal baseline and target values are unmeasured and excluded from averages. Completed success includes only measured completed or closed interventions.
Session measurements remain evidence; they do not automatically replace the intervention's current measure. Missed and cancelled sessions should have zero minutes and no measurement.
Use outcome-area cards and the Progress view filter on Support & impact to find the records behind the figures.
Use Provision for teaching, staffing, therapy or equipment. Use Costing to connect the pupil's provision and funding to weekly sessions, minutes, weeks and a session rate.
Annual planned cost = sessions per week × weeks per year × cost per session. For example, 2.5 sessions × 39 weeks × £60 = £5,850. Annual hours use the same schedule and the minutes per session.
Funding amounts may cover a different period. Check dates and conditions before comparing them with annual planned cost.
Choose an intervention type and template, then Apply selected defaults. Blank wording is filled; classification comes from the chosen type. Check the result before saving. Costing defaults copy the linked provision's delivery details/rate/review date and the funding source, so check replaced values too.
School managers and SENCOs maintain their school's types. Trust managers maintain trust-wide types and wording templates. Deactivate old entries to keep historic links.
Put these exact field names between braces, for example {Student.FullName}. Unknown names are rejected. Missing source values remain blank.

A manager or SENCO can open Manage staff support & assignments from the pupil workspace. Record responsibilities, hours, dates and supervision. An active teaching-assistant assignment grants read access within its dates, subject to school membership and confidential/safeguarding restrictions. It does not grant editing.
End the assignment or clear Active assignment when support ends. Only one active assignment for the pupil/staff pair is allowed.
Save changes before creating a review task. The same support record and review date reuse one task, including after completion. Record a new review date for the next cycle.
If a conflict appears, reload the record and review the saved changes before trying again. Mark support inactive when it should leave current worklists but retain linked evidence. Removal is available to authorised managers and preserves history.
