CONFIDENT RECORDS
Attendance, attainment
& school imports.
Start with the pupil
Open Attendance & attainment in the pupil workspace. Create a reporting period, then add the daily, weekly or term session entries. Record possible sessions, attended sessions, authorised and unauthorised absence, and late marks from the source evidence.
A standalone snapshot has one totals entry and stays separate from reporting-period totals. The overview uses the latest matching period per pupil and weights the percentage by possible sessions. Date filters select overlapping periods; they do not split a term into estimated daily figures.
Follow up low attendance
The deadline monitor creates a high-priority task when measured attendance in a reporting period falls below 90%, due five days after detection. Open the linked period to review the evidence and support needed. Standalone snapshots and unmeasured periods are excluded. Completing a task retains its evidence; create a separate follow-up if further action is needed.
Bring in a CSV file
- Open Import centre and choose the correct school and import type.
- Select a CSV file, inspect its preview and confirm the column mappings. Save a named mapping for repeated files.
- Prepare the import, review its warnings, then choose Run or resume import.
- Review errors and skipped rows. Correct invalid source data in a new file. Retry a failed row after fixing a missing pupil or temporary connection problem.
Pupil CSV imports add new pupils and skip existing identifiers within that school. Blank SEND status means the pupil is not on the SEND register. Attendance imports update a matching entry and leave identical data unchanged. UPN and admission number must identify the same pupil when both are supplied.
Use Bromcom
An administrator connects each local school to its verified Bromcom school ID. Choose that connection and the required feed. Optional sources without access are listed as warnings; their existing values remain intact. Review any skipped school profile or missing pupil before accepting the run.
Pausing or closing an import does not undo rows already committed. Resume to continue; an abandoned run can recover after its 15-minute lease expires. Do not start a new file simply to retry a temporary failure.
Keep the evidence clear
Record actual attainment results and dates. Confidential and safeguarding restrictions apply to lists, details, history and imported evidence. Use the original source to resolve conflicting identifiers; do not move pupils between schools to make an import match.
